Cornell Cooperative Extension Orange County Relatives as Parents Program (RAPP) assists grandparents and other relatives who are primary caregivers for related children. RAPP provides educational opportunities in parenting, nutrition and financial management. In addition mutual peer support groups, youth development activities and other special events are offered. RAPP participants are referred to appropriate community based services and resources as well as counseling and legal information.

Supportive nutrition, health, and other support services related to social and physical wellbeing are available to help safely maintain older people in their homes and provide assistance to their caregivers. Trained staff answer caregiver’s questions, help in identification of specific issues/needs and link individuals to appropriate public and private programs, which address those issues/needs. Direct and indirect support services include but are not limited to: home delivery meals, caregiver support groups and education, information and referral, transportation, in-home non-medical personnel care, limited legal assistance, Alzheimer’s specific care and insurance counseling.

Child Care Council of Orange County, Inc. is a child care resource and referral agency serving Orange County, New York. The Council recruits people interested in opening a child care program. We offer technical assistance, training, grant opportunities and other resources in developing, sustaining, and enhancing quality in a child care business.
